BIOGRAPHY
GABRIELA BATISTA.
Visual Artist Panamanian degree in Computer Science began his art studies in Panama in 1999 to 2003. Then make study tour of various galleries and museums in Spain and France. In 2006 he traveled to New York City specializing in the prestigious The Art Students League in Manhattan.
He has exhibited in countries like Holland, Argentina, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Mexico and in cities like Miami and New York, USA. He has participated in over 60 national and international group exhibitions.
His work has been highlighted in several art magazines. In newspapers and magazines local and international cultural.
Co-cured the pictorial exhibition "Art for Earth" in the Anthropological Museum Reina Torres de Arauz, in July 2007. In the sample involving 22 Panamanian artists of great experience with 45 works, including paintings, photographs, wood carvings and video installations. The exhibition was visited by over 2,000 people including children and adults in a period of 30 days and is considered the largest art exhibition to date in Panama.
Recognized for its environmental work program has worked with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and with different organizations (United Nations Programme for Training and Research UNITAR, Panama Group National Park among others), foundations ( Mar Viva, Fundacáncer, the Casita de Mausi) and local and international companies (King and Romero Group, AES Panama, Changuinola, Telefonica Movistar, Lotus, SA and others).
Recently is chosen among the 66 best young American artists and their works lie in the book "New Flag" sponsored by Telefonica Movistar Regional and Rozas-Botran Foundation of Guatemala in November edition. 2008.
The evolution of his religious figurative paintings and above, to the present acrylic on canvas, prints and paper recycling, reflect a less than subtle, concern and serious concern about the problems that affect the planet we live on, such as forest fires, the hunting of endangered animals, pollution of air and water and everything that is causing global warming. His recent work is an art committed to reporting and awareness of these global problems.
Gabriela Batista is inspired in the middle environment for painting. This led her to enter the world of fashion, art and ecology throwing their bags in 2008 marks "The Right Bag" ® by Gabriela Batista as Panamanian proposal that offers local and international awareness, to go thus discarding voluntarily indiscriminate use, expensive and harmful ultra-thin plastic bags.
Gabriela silkscreen work is captured in 100% cotton bags which were presented during the fair-American Art in Miami Beach, Florida in April 2008 and then in Panama in June of that year, under the concept of art / utilitarian fashion, placing more than 500 of these bags screen printed in the local and international market.
Additionally fifteen thousand (15,000) reusable bags with prints of his recent works were acquired by companies and organizations to promote voluntary reduction campaigns plastic bags together with the Alliance Zero Pollution, civil organization, throughout the Republic of Panama.
Now part of the Global Programme to promote free societies Mercury Mercury through environmental art workshops. It works closely with the Alliance Zero Pollution and companies conducting children's workshops with the participation of children and adults.

His most recent work focuses on the socio-cultural, economic and ecological sugarcane. With your camera runs through the fields of Latin America and captures images which are then worked on his painting studio and gathered in this exhibition "Dulce Sabor Latin America." One of the works in the collection is chosen in the contest and auction Juanni 2010 International exhibited at the Museum Carlos Mérida of Guatemala City. Gabriela Batista presents a work inspired by the cane and the role it plays in the discussions and forums for governments and environmental groups that promote its use as fuel in place of petroleum.
